Not Resolutions But Goals

January...
The time for resolutions to be
flooding everyone's social media feeds.
New Year, New You always comes to mind
as we look at the new book in front of us.
365 blank pages to be written by you and you alone.
How will YOU fill those blank pages?
The definition of resolution is: a firm decision to do or not to do something. But have you ever noticed how a New Year's Resolution just doesn't seem to have that firmness to it? It's almost become the norm to let it go by the end of January. Perhaps you've made one or two stick until May or June....
How about this year, instead of a resolution built around your show life you set goals instead? Les Brown stated...."Review your goals twice every day in order to be focused on achieving them." What are your show barn goals for 2020? Is it showmanship related? Then you need to be willing to put in the extra work and spend time with your animal every day. Is your goal to get to every jackpot event in the area? Then you will need to be willing to give up weekends with your friends.
What goals are you setting this year? What steps are necessary to bring those goals to reality? What is your vision when you make that final entry of this year's brand new book?
One of my favorite goal related quotes is by Zig Ziglar...
"What you get by achieving your goals is not as important
as what you become by achieving your goals."
What will YOU become in 2020?
